The Past Few Days

We filled the ice rink a few days ago -- it has finally become cold enough to freeze the water well. Our winter has been a little warmer than usual until recently, as well as having little snow. You can see in the background that the old grass is still not covered in the front pasture. We've only had 2 or 3 inches on the ground so far.
Here is Elijah, working on his snowmobile. The boys spend about as much time working on the snowmobiles as riding them, which is okay with me! They are having a lot of fun, though, and so far, have been safe. They are promising me a ride tomorrow -- we'll see how brave I feel . . .
And these are some of Betsy's beautiful rolls, cooling in a basket. She has been getting more orders recently, so Busy Bee's Bakery has been . . . well, busy!

Yes, our winter has been warmer too--thankfully for the heat costs. The rolls look lovely!
