Sorry we are late posting about Thanksgiving!

First, a picture of progress on the pole barn . . . because that really takes up lots of time and energy around here, especially for Elijah and Ben. Several loads of gravel have been delivered today, and Ben will be spending the morning spreading and leveling for the "floor" and drive/parking area in front of the barn.
This pilgrim showed up for Thanksgiving dinner. He was pretty solemn, too. Reminds me of a little girl who was always very creative with costumes years ago -- and loved to relive history every chance she got. Of course, she celebrated Thanksgiving with Evan in Illinois this year. Miss you, honey!
William the Pilgrim was joined by a couple of other creative people -- er -- Indians. Yes, there really WERE blue eyed, blond Indians. Don't you believe us? When your ancestry is Scotch-Irish/German/Danish/English, you do the best you can.
I'm afraid we forgot to take pictures at the table, and I really wish we had, because the boys VOLUNTARILY wore nice clothes. They looked great! All I seem to have is a picture of a coconut cream pie that I made on Thanksgiving afternoon, to boost the declining pie supply. We had made three pies for Thanksgiving dinner, but with six men and boys to feed, there wasn't much left for supper that night. Actually, we had made the pies on Wednesday, and when we pulled them from the refrigerator for dinner on Thursday, significant portions were missing! Hmmmm.
A dusting of snow on the barn roof, bare limbs on trees, and colder temperatures are all helping it feel more like winter.

We are thankful for so very many things, as all of you are. The Lord has poured out His blessings upon us. Our tradition is for each of us to write out many slips of paper with things we are thankful for on them, then put them into a basket to be read by Steve as a prayer of thanksgiving to the Lord after dinner. The big basket was full, as usual. How many things we tend to take for granted each day, and yet He gives us the very air we breathe. How wonderful it is to take the time to remind and encourage each other of His goodness.

A belated Happy Thanksgiving to all of you from all of us.

Looks like your family had a nice Thanksgiving with lots of unusual "visitors." We decided to do something totally different this year and travelled to Charleston SC and spent the weekend touring all the historical sites and even sitting on the beach because the weather was so nice.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

Blessings,

Victoria

Your family reminds me of mine!
I had to chuckle at how the boys voluntarily wore nice clothes for dinner... sounds very familiar ;-)

We use to dress up like Pilgrims and Indians too!

We made our pies early too.
