Well, it's hunting season again in Wisconsin, which means that we see guys in blaze orange, pickup trucks with deer in the back, and guns and ammunition frequently. Some of those belong to the Castleberry family, but all of the Lakeside area looks about the same. Elijah is "hunting" for the right ammunition for his gun in this picture. And no, we don't keep ammo in our schoolroom filing cabinet! There is a locked gun cabinet behind the filing cabinet, which you can't see from this angle.

Steve (Dad) takes Andrew along to a big box stand in the field that the boys built for him a couple of summers ago. Andrew is allowed to carry the gun out, but it's unloaded at this point.

And this is D.J.'s first year to hunt. He told me this morning that he wore 10 layers above the waist to keep warm yesterday. It worked!

Then there is lots of work still being done on the pole barn. Here Elijah is moving a truss to the roof of the barn with the help of a tree trunk the boys cut. It saved so much money for the boys to be able to figure out how to do this with our tractor, instead of having to rent a crane. Way to go, guys!

The Lord has blessed Elijah with a lot of skill on the tractor. But it takes concentration!

Ben guides each truss as Elijah picks it up, making sure it goes up to the top straight and safely.

Halfway up . . .

Ben using a rope to hold it there in place for a moment.

Steve (Dad) helping nail a truss in place. Scaffolding is a real blessing, especially for those who are no longer fond of heights!

We have quite the crew to nail the trusses. It's amazing how quickly the trusses went up, in just one morning.

Cait HAS to be near everyone else.

D.J. holding a board in place. Yes, we did buy him some new insulated overalls. The duct tape on the knees held the old ones together while we waited for the new ones to arrive!

Here you can see the roof line. The pole barn still needs the sheet metal put on, to cover the walls and roof.

Remember how we said we got this building free, for taking it down and hauling it away? We may not have told you that the building is about 40 years old, hence the pink faded color. Really ugly! But we do plan to paint it next summer. Too cold for painting now!

I love these silhouette shots of the guys up there. They worked every night until it was too dark to see.

A man and his hammer.
We are grateful that the Lord has provided safety each day, and continue to ask His blessing on this project.
